My Children Made My Dreams Come True

As I was brushing and blow drying my daughters hair the other night, I got to thinking. I always wanted to be a hairstylist, and now I have the opportunity to do at least six heads of hair every day if I wish. Then as I thought more about it, I realized there were many things that I do now that were 'dreams' of mine when I was younger.

1. I am a fashion stylist.
With four little girls in the house, you can bet I am consulted about matching colors and styles, what hairstyle to wear with what outfit, what jewelry matches, and so on. I am also in charge of all painting of fingers and toes! We could have a fashion show every day! These times are also great opportunities to talk about modesty. :)

2. I am a master chef.
This is a given.  Anything Mom makes is delicious, right? :)

3. I can draw and paint like Van Gogh.
It really doesn't matter if it is stick people - to them, it's awesome.

4. I am a real comedian.
I love how little children think that the silliest things are so hilarious. It doesn't take much to crack them up. And I love to make them laugh! :)

5. I am a great singer.
I am not one to sing in the shower, I only sing in front of my children. They are probably the only people in the world who will ever hear me really belt it out. :) We can also make up the funniest songs!

6. I am a scientist.
I can't really take credit for finding all the science projects we do, but the children think it is the coolest thing when I can make Valentines candy dance in a jar, or sprout beans in a wet paper towel. :)

So I may not get to leave the house everyday and go to the 'work place', but look at all the professions I can practice at home with my children!

Have your children made any of your 'dreams' come true? :)

  2. I LOVE this! I have been amazed at the way that God provided for me to learn the things that I would need in this stage of my life; how things that I thought were stepping stones to one goal have become my new one. Isn't it wonderful how he fits everything into place - childhood dreams and all??

Thanks for linking up to Inspired Wednesdays!
